Book Week was a super fun week!!
Thank you to everyone that supported the Book Parade and the awesome effort you put into the costumes. The parade is such a highlight of the year for many of our students and the staff. Here are some photos if you missed out on seeing our Parade.
In room 4 we love learning through our structured literacy activities. We are learning draw and talk about things that are important to us whether it be our families or topics that are important to us in our shared reading books.
We are extending our brains by using our memory skills and we work really well together with our friends to spot similarities and differences.
We have really enjoyed book week and all the activities around our school.
Room 3 celebrates Book Week, which is an annual celebration of reading for pleasure for children.
The children participated in lunchtime activities and enjoyed some Tuakana-Teina time. We had our amazing year 5 / 6 students come read to us.
Room 4 has recently started experimenting with trying to make our own movie based on our puppet shows. The children have been working in small groups to make their own shows. Some of the children have chosen songs or very simple story lines such as going to the park. We are learning to be confident, work collaboratively and utilise our new skills such as how to film each other using the ipad
Room 3 has been learning about Multiplication. Here is a snapshot of the students’ representations of a problem.
This week we are learning all about us. What we like about ourselves on the inside and out. We have been practising our self portraits ready to publish them later this week.
Room 5 are learning to use groups to solve multiplication problems.
